PONTOTOC COUNTY, Okla. -- Pontotoc County officials have broken ground for a new jail that has been in the works for years.
The new jail will be built next to the county Agro-Plex.
The jail was approved back in April with a vote to raise county sales taxes.
The new jail should be complete within the next year and hold three times as many inmates as the old facility.
