Sherman fire displaces 3 families

SHERMAN, Tex. -- An early Saturday morning fire destroyed three apartments and left three families without homes.

Fire units received the call around 2:30 Saturday morning at the Hill Top Village Apartments. When they arrived on the scene, they found one apartment fully engulfed and two others threatened.

Rescue crews from Denison and Pottsboro were called out to assist in containing the fire, which was put out in a little over an hour.

The Salvation Army was also called to the scene and is helping the families displaced find a home for the time being. The fire caused about $75,000 worth of damages.
