SHERMAN, Tex. -- The families of the victims of one ofthe worst accidents in Grayson County history have settled their lawsuit against truck driver Miroslaw Jozwiak and the company he worked for after he slammed into two cars along U.S. Highway 75 in Sherman in a 2005 accident that killed 10 people and injured two others.

Attorneys for the victims' families say loved ones shouldn't have to relive the tragic details of the accident during a trial.

There is no word the exact details of the settlement at this time.

Jury selection was supposed to begin on Monday in U.S. District Court.

Jozwiak was sentenced to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to 10 counts of manslaughter.

First off to clarify, Jozwiak was not on any illegal drugs, only a bit tired. How many people drive daily without the recommended 8 hours of sleep???? Second off, the death penalty for an accident?? Gee, how much in tax dollars do we want to spend for appeals for the death penalty cases? WHy would you give somone a death sentence for an accident? What is each time someone had an accident here, how many people would crowd the death row? In my opinion 10 years for an accident purely makes a mockery of our justice system. I hate to think that I live in a "free" country where someone could EVER get the death penalty for an accident, and it makes me sick the ignornace that anyone, anywhere could ever even think it, let alone show true stupidity and post it for anyone of any intellectual value to read it. I am shocked at the ignorance that flows through Grayson County over an accident when the worst punishment he could ever have, he has with the guilt he faces each and every day and let us not forget how it affected his family, him, and all involved. Disgusted in Denison....

He should have been given the death penalty. He killed 10 people yet gets to live? How's that justice?

No amount of money can ever replace those lost. May God bless you as he has those he chose to be with him on that day. They are a lot better off than we are. God Bless

He should get the death penalty for it, but of course that won't happen, but one day his day WILL come

Do I remember correctly...this man was on drugs when the accident occurred? If so, one year for each victim isn't enough.
