GRAYSON COUNTY, Tex. -- State Fire Marshals have been called in to investigate a possible arson north of Pottsboro. The remains of the house on Cedar Oak were still smoldering Monday after fire destroyed the house late Friday night.

Preston Volunteer Fire Department officials say there were several explosions coming from inside the home when they arrived.

Officials suspect they were chemical explosions.

Grayson County Sheriff's investigators arrested Johnny Henderson, 45, of Pottsboro, on Saturday. He stands accused of injury to the elderly and arson.

This was after Henderson gave a statement on the incident.

State investigators are expected to arrive later in the week.

I have worked with this guy and he is one of the nicest people that I have ever met. I just can't believe this has happened to such a nice man. You people who critize him, don't even know him and if you did, you wouldn't be saying this stuff. Think about his Mother here not only did she lose her home, she has also lost her son. As for his girlfriend she is a nice girl. I understand everyone is entitled to his/her opinion but why degrade these people. Some people just have problems.

There are lots of products in aerosol cans people use every day that could cause explosions. I have known this family for many years and there was no drug lab in that home!!!! No mention of a meth lab was reported by the authorities, so I do not think people should speculate about what they dont know for fact. This was a tragedy do to mental and emotional problems that could happen to any family.

Yeah! Why hasn't the girlfriend been arrested, she left with him and even took him out of the county. I'm sorry but she should also be charged with either leaving the scene of a crime or as having part in him setting the fire. I know the family and have known them for more than 20 years. From what I hear she is blaming his mother for what happened and thinks it is all her fault. EXCUSE ME!!! He set the fire NOT the mother. Arrest that girl!!!!!

Good question about the girlfriend. KXII why are we not hearing any news about her? She was just as much a part of it as Mr. Henderson and his mother. From what I have been told from family members the argument that turned violent was about her. She was there when Mr. Henderson started the fire and fled the scene of the crime with him. Have any charges been filed on her?

Bill, I am the daughter of Mrs. Henderson. Her home was not a meth lab. From our understanding my brother received his engeries when escaping/breaking through a window. His girlfriend went into the house and got him out saving his life. Chemicals/explosions were also stated to me personaly by the fire department personal could have come from several different items in the house. Once again we are asking for prayers for our family not rumors.

My goodness. Why are there people that are so mean? I was there during this fire. The daughter to Mrs. Henderson is my best friend. Mr. Henderson was not on drugs in fact he was not taking the medicine he so desperately needed that was prescribed due to the cost of prescribed meds being so HIGH. I think we can all relate to that. This home was a beautiful home on one of the most beautiful pieces of land I have ever seen. Also if you knew this family the Football field in Pottsboro is actually Henderson Field named after this fine family. Johnny was not beaten up by anyone, he actually was trying to get out of the home when he hurt himself. I was there I never heard explosions. If firemen did it could have been paint cans, hair spray, the gas tank in Johnny's collectors Trans Am in the garage. Please do not judge. Please pray for this family and stop with the hurtful rumors this could happen to anyone.

You look at a beaten face, and assume meth use? or resisting arrest? or fighting with his parents? Which is it? We don't know, so we can't assume.
