DENISON, Tex. --The Denison City Council gave the green light to continue its recycling program. City leaders added recycling to its collection station back in March, and say they'll keep it going.

The council passed an interlocal agreement with the city of Sherman, where Denison employees bring their city's recyclables to a Sherman collection site.

If you live outside of Denison, there's a plan for you too. Non-Denison residents will soon be able to drop recyclables at the station as well. Beginning in November the city plans to sell $1 coupons, good for about 50 pounds worth of trash.

Non-residents can buy as many coupons as they’d like. The coupons may have expiration dates which would allow city officials to change the prices or designs of the cards as necessary.

"There are recyclers who are almost a sect within themselves who believe in fervently recycling,” said Richard McGowan, the solid waste chair of Keep Denison Beautiful. “They just have to have a place to drop it off and it's contagious I think a lot of people will find it feels good."

People who live outside of Denison can buy the coupons at the Denison water department. The collection site is located at 300 West FM 84, near the north end of Munson Park on US 69.

Can we put the vehicles still parked on lawns in said container? And possibly a old clocktower and a bridge laying around this city?
