DENISON, Tex. -- Some locals were cutting up last night at Cutters in Denison.

Nationally known comedian and Oklahoma native Rodney Carrington was in town to raise money for the Grayson County Children's Charity.

"Eighteen years ago when I started this, it was all about making a living. Since then it’s been really good, and it feels good to do something good for somebody else."

Rodney says he's happy to get the opportunity to give back.

everyone likes something different guys..listen to what you want..music never has put a gun in anyones hands..they themselves choose to pick that gun up. i prefer country myself and rodney is my buddy. but him hisself will tell you that he is just an entertainer. until everyone comes to realize that movies and music doesnt put the guns in peoples hands. we will continue to have problems with the races going on. i say let everyone do what they want to do. too many people mind everyone elses business anymore. if we'd all just mind our own. we'd be alot better off

rap is not crap and country muziq can cause just as much as a problem as anthing else. Gangs are more influenced by family problems, but musiq does play a part, but you never know rap musiq might help some people, i am a younger person and i luv rap musiq along with hip-hop r&b its all on the person...

Read the news a little closer, anonymous. Also by what you are saying you are more than likely one of those rap crap listener. Country is in, rap crap is out. Look at the big stars that came from country. #1 of all time and he has kept it country all of his life is the mighty George Strait. Look at all the ones that followed, Alan Jackson, Rodney Carrington, and several, several others.

If you're talking about that boy-band hat act crap played on so-called "country" stations, you may be right, Bo. REAL pure-dee country doesn't come out of a slicked-up studio in NashVegas- it comes from the hearts & souls of a lot of folks singing in honkytonks, dance halls, and bars all over this land. That's the real deal. But even so, even NashVegas beats (c)rap any day. And DAT'S da rizzle dizzle fa shizzle (LOL!!!)And hats off to Rodney Carrington for stopping by, and for what he did this show for. Hubba hubba hubba hey!

The number 1 music Country, not that rap crap. That rap crap seems to keep the gangs around. Hey Gainesville go around blasting country music all the time and that should take care of the gang problem in your town. It might make a few of the dumd**** pull thier pants up and wear a belt with them. Hey, could not hurt to try. If I am right Gainesville has the Twister country station.
