Here's some important information if you were affected by the floods this summer in Texas. FEMA's deadline for assistance is Monday, October 29.
Officials with FEMA are warning flood victims in Texas their application for disaster assistance may have been denied, but that doesn't mean they're not eligible for assistance.
All that may be needed for approval from FEMA is more information on the application.
Officials say those that are denied usually fail to complete some key areas of the application listed below:
-return insurance information
-complete and return the U.S. Small Business Administration Loan
-provide information to prove occupancy or ownership of the damaged property]
Officials say those affected by the floods have twelve months after the disaster to receive federal funding.
Those who need to update their application information or have questions about disaster assistance are encouraged to call the FEMA help line at 800-621-FEMA (3362); TTY: 800-462-7585.
