DENISON, Tex. -- Denison Police will soon make some upgrades to their evidence office. The Texas Association of Property, Evidence, and Inventory Technicians awarded the department a $1,000 grant to improve the office.
Two sergeants recently returned from tape its annual conference. They learned about packaging and storing evidence and proper ways to destroy and dispose evidence as well.
"Anytime you increase your knowledge on the things that pertain to the job, especially the things that are really as critical and crucial as the evidence is, not only will help them but they're also able to share with the rest of us thing things that they learn," said Lt. Mike Eppler of the Denison Police Department.
The department plans to use the grants to help organize the bar-coding system in the evidence room.
