KRUM, Tex. -- A North Texas soldier was laid to rest on Tuesday. Army Sergeant Justin Monschke, 28, was killed in Iraq on October 14th when a makeshift bomb exploded near his unit.

Monschke was a 1997 graduate of Krum High School, and the school district dismissed classes early today in remembrance of him and so students and families could attend his funeral.

Monschke's funeral took place at Denton First Baptist Church. He was buried at Jackson Cemetery.
