POTTSBORO, Tex. -- Pottsboro Middle School students participated in a teen driving program on Thursday to teach kids about drinking and driving before they ever get behind the wheel.
Pottsboro Police Chief Brett Arterburn, along with Phil Johnson of Less Tears, More Years, held the program.
They used exercises to show the 6th, 7th, and 8th graders what drinking can do to you.
Arterburn says getting through to them at an early age is key.
"We had a really good time with the interaction with the kids. We had them involved with fatal vision goggles, and actually showing them the effects of drugs and alcohol on the body," Arterburn said.
The goal of the program is to educate kids about drinking and driving before they start.
