CARTER COUNTY, Okla. -- A motorcycle accident just south of Healdton has left one man in critical condition. Authorities say Michael Christopher Tinline, 34, was driving northbound on a county road at a high rate of speed when he lost control of his bike and was ejected about 60 feet.

He was flown to OU Medical Center by Eagle Med with head and trunk external injuries.

He was reportedly not wearing a helmet.

so sorry this happened. hopefully he will recover. Always, always wear a helmet. My hubby and I ride, and we always wear helmets and protective gear. This is an inappropriate reminder at this time, I know. To all those out there who don't wear protective gear, this is a hard lesson. And pavement is even harder.
