SHERMAN, Tex. -- A local hospital could see some changes in the near future. Daniel Gotera reported live from Community Specialty Hospital on Wednesday’s First News at Five.

Details are sketchy at this time, but hospital officials did say Wednesday afternoon that the facility will not be shutting down.

Speculation that the facility might close started Wednesday morning, but hospital officials who refused to talk to us on camera tell us they have been working all day to resolve the issue as quickly as they can.

What the issue is remains unclear at this time, and officials refuse to elaborate.

For those who don't know exactly what community specialty hospital does, the newly-designed 90-bed hospital specializes in inpatient physical rehab, psychiatric services, and outpatient pain management for adults.

Hospital officials had originally scheduled a 3 o’clock meeting with KXII to go over what exactly is happening, but when we arrived here today they cancelled the meeting and refused to give us any details other than to insure us the facility will stay open.

We were told that more details will be released later this week.
