CARTER COUNTY, Okla. -- A two-and-a-half month investigation in Carter County is complete, and now a Duncan man could be tried for murder. The investigation stems from an August accident in Carter County where three people died.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers say on August 10th, Shannon Lowe, 39, of Duncan, was driving on State Highway 7 just west of Ratliff City when his Nissan crossed the center line into the path of five motorcycles.

The collision took the lives of Betty Day, 57, from Terral, Roger Gunter, 59, of Ryan, and Linda Gunter, 57, of Ryan.

The Carter County District Attorney's Office has filed charges against Lowe for three counts of second degree murder.

Lowe is in the Carter County Jail on $100,000 bond.

Shannon Lowe is my father. This accident has devastated my family and I am so sorry for the families that have lost their loved ones. I am his first child age 19. I have 5 siblings; Tyler 8, Dominique 11, Erica 9, Veronica 6, and Clayton 1. We miss him and love him very much. All of our lives are changed forever.

this is an awful accident and my heart goes out to the familys this is so common that vehichles dont pay close attention to what is beside them or ahead of them and when you cross that line things can happen because some people don't move and some people never see it coming

I've been following this story, I saw some other websites regarding this story. KXII led everyone to believe that a WOMAN did this. Do you think that the name of Shannon is only related to women? I'm sure alot of us are confused. Check the story again. It mentions that Shannon is a man.
