ARDMORE, Okla. -- Ardmore city commissioners touched on what they call key issues at a special meeting Wednesday held on Lake Murray.

Water topped the list as the most important issue facing the city's growth. City leaders say a dependable water source is crucial for attracting future residents to Ardmore.

They discussed ways to provide residents near the Ardmore Airpark with a dependable water source, and they also talked about sustainable housing as a way to help improve city neighborhoods.

"It’s all pretty important to keep policy makers in tune with where they’re at so they can communicate to us what our future goals are going to be," Ardmore city manager Dan Parrott said.

Leaders also discussed improvements to Ardmore’s Regional Park as well as next year’s city budget.
