SHERMAN, Tex. -- After days of speculation over the future of a local hospital, officials at the Community Specialty Hospital in Sherman say the operation will not be closing down.

CEO Travis Roderick says the non-for-profit facility will be splitting from the for-profit managing company Senior Health Incorporated due to some changes in managerial philosophy.

Roderick says his crew has been working around the clock trying to keep the hospital they care for so much open.

Roderick says they are working with local banks and health organizations to try and keep the hospital running, but for now they will not accept any more patients.

Uh, Michelle- it's a long-term acute care facility, not your run-of-the-mill hospital. If your child needs treatment, go to WNJ or TMC. Facilities who take care of LTAC patients don't dabble in emergency medicine, OB/GYN/ or even pediatrics.

That is funny. Then why are they having families move their loved ones?

How can they say they are a hospital when they turn patience down? They are no more than a medical specialty clinic. They refused to treat my child when they say they are a hospital. They said they only see elders by appointment, they dont treat emergencies.
