TISHOMINGO, Okla. -- After changing hands more than once in 2007, Johnston Memorial Hospital has been sold again. Administrators at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Tishomingo confirmed Tuesday morning that California-based Tri-Isthmus Group bought a percentage of the facility from current owner Rural Hospital Acquisition.
Rural Hospital Acquisition bought the 26-bed facility from the Schuster Group earlier this year, after the original owners, the Schuster Group, declared bankruptcy. Administrators say in October, Schuster then sold the hospital to Rural Hospital Acquisition, and as of Tuesday morning, Tri-Isthmus and Rural Hospital Acquisition are now joint owners of Johnston Memorial Hospital.
Mary Owen, an administrator at Johnston Memorial Hospital said there are, "New things to come; closure with satisfaction that we will provide health care and jobs.”
In addition to Johnston Memorial, the two companies also own other facilities in Oklahoma; one in Stroud and one in Anadarko. Despite the change in ownership this year, the Schuster Group's former CEO is now heading up as current part-owner, Rural Hospital Acquisition.
The financial details of the sale have not been publicly released.
