GAINESVILLE, TX -- The city of Gainesville honored their soldiers this Veterans Day with a special ceremony. A large group gathered at Leonard Park by the Frank Buck Zoo for the event. Gainesville mayor Glen Loch presided over the ceremony, which involved a children’s choir and a guest speaker.

Old military vehicles were also on display courtesy of the MVPA. Those who attended say any little thing they can do to honor those who have fought for our country...goes a long way.

Other Veterans events planned for Monday:

Mayes Elementary school in Denison is hosting a Veterans’ breakfast. It begins at 7:30 am.

S&S Elementary is holding a veteran’s lunch from 11am – 1pm.
