Ada woman pleads not guilty to shooting husband

ADA, Okla. -- An Ada woman pleaded not guilty Thursday afternoon in the a Ponotoc County courtroom to charges that she attempted to kill her husband two weeks ago.

Deputies arrested 39-year-old Rachel Lea Furr just after 9 o’clock Wednesday night.

The arrest stems from a domestic dispute two weeks ago when Furr shot her husband, 44-year-old Harvey Furr, in the back with a shotgun.

He was transported by medical helicopter to an Oklahoma City hospital where he is now listed in stable condition.

She appeared before a district judge on Thursday afternoon and pleaded not guilty.

Rachel Furr is being held on $25,000 bond in the Ponotoc County Jail.
