COLBERT, Okla. – A Colbert police officer has been fired for failing a random drug test. Police Chief Bryan Gordon said Tuesday morning that four new hires were randomly given a 5-level drug test, one of whom failed the test. The employees were apparently still under their 90-day probation period.

Names have not been released at this time, and the final results are not being announced.

Chief Gordon did confirm that someone else has already been hired on to replace the terminated officer.

funny you guys always want to bad mouth the chief, whoever he is!! this chief was asked to do this job...he did not apply for it. and yes he is certified since '03. and i agree WHY AIR DIRTY LAUNDRY?? as for the test result...if it is the five panel test.....the initial result is positive-pending...not non-negative. I heard what the final lab result said and the town should be glad they terminated when they did...just for liability reasons. there was enough meth in his system, he was probably working under the influence.

Shouldn't this be kept quiet until all the tests are finished? Who is it at Colbert that craves attention so much to involve the media over every embarassment in that town.Someone needs to keep their mouth shut.

Does anyone know the high and mighty chief has only been the chief for about two weeks, has very little experience, and isn't even CLEET certified?? Futhermore, until ALL the results come back on a drug sceen they are to be referred to as NON-NEGATIVE. So I would have to agree with the previous comment about the story being one sided since it has NOT been determined if the officer was on any kind of prescription medication. That officer is better off not working for Colbert anyway. I have never seen any town act more white trash in my entire life.

in the last post, who is the (he) that is being referred to about being familiar with all types of drugs?

I guess when he wrote he was familar with all types of drugs he wasn't kidding. Maybe just a little pre-job research, huh?
