ARDMORE, Okla. -- A brand new giant bronze eagle now welcomes patrons to the American National Bank in Ardmore. The new addition sits out in front of the newly remodeled bank.

Officials unveiled the statue Tuesday morning, saying the eagle is a symbolism for the success they've had over the years.

"You know I think it’s fitting being Thanksgiving we actually give thanks to all the communities we serve," American National Bank senior president Kevin Butler said.

The eagle weighs in around 300 pounds and has a five-foot wing span.

Contributing to the artistic iniative of a community is money well spent. Profitable businesses in every community should strive to improve the aesthetics of their physical environment. Art enriches people in ways that money cannot. I'm not a patron of this bank, and rarely visit Ardmore, but I like to see positive endeavors of any kind in Texoma. Thanks to First News for covering this unveiling.
