SHERMAN, Tex. -- A home invasion ended with a man's trip to the hospital. James Bean says he came home Sunday night to his apartment at a seniors only facility in the 1000 block of East Odneal, and two or three minutes later, two black men busted into his home.

Officers say they hit him in the face with a gun twice, stole his wallet, and fired one shot before fleeing on foot.

The landlord said he then saw the suspects take off in a car parked around the corner.

Bean says they only took was his wallet, but that had all his rent money in it.

Now he just hopes the police will find the men.

"I just want them to be caught because they don't need to be doing that to these people here," victim James Bean says.

Police are looking for two black men, one was wearing a blue bandana over his face, and the other had on a blue sports jersey.

The landlord saw them leaving in a light-colored car after taking off on foot.

If you know anything, call the Sherman Police Department at 903-892-7290.

Big talkers obviously don't have to live in this neighborhood... It's rife with problems. Of course this is a crackhouse! Been there for years. Was shocked to see the other end touted as a senior housing. All the scum drifts up from Willow and Jones. Drive through that in the evening if you don't think Sherman has crime. Early am too. They haven't been to bed yet. You can see it all. Prostitution, drugs, illegal immigrants, you name it, Willow's got it. Welcome to the East side.

People are not safe at home - shopping or anywhere. Older citizens are at risk 24/7 and there is nothing to stop the low life from doing what they want to do to anybody - anytime. It is sad and scary that we have to live in fear - lock all doors and windows and still they get inside.

I hope these punks are caught. You have to be a sorry, lowdown person to rob our elderly citizens. If Betty is correct on the crackhouse, start searching there first. They will do ANYTHING for money and its a shame.

OMG. This is just blocks from my elderly mom! This neighborhood is going down fast! She constantly has trouble with noisy neighboors and has to call police in the middle of the night! It's a shame our parents have to live like this. Even more surprising is one side of the apartments are sectioned off for seniors , and the other end is a crackhouse.
