CARTER COUNTY, Okla. -- An accident just before 7 p.m. Tuesday night in Carter County on Highway 53 in Springer sent one person to the hospital and landed another person in jail.
Oklahoma highway patrol troopers say Clayton Higginbottom, 33, was intoxicated when he tried to overtake a vehicle going east bound on Highway 53.
Troopers say Higginbottom ended up colliding with 38-year-old Tracey Robinson of Fort Worth, who was traveling west on the highway.
Higginbottom was treated and released from Mercy Memorial and then taken to the Carter County Jail. Robinson was also treated and released.
