SHERMAN, TX -- A familiar face around Texoma, and here at Channel 12, is packing up and moving. KXII-TV threw a going away party for Norman Bennett Wednesday night, after he finished taping his final segment.

Norman is moving to El Paso Thursday morning to be closer to his family. He has worked for KXII for the past 40 years, doing commercials, weekend weather, money shows, and of course Norman Bennett and guests.

"So I've been around Sherman for a long time and I love it and I'll come back and see everybody...and thanks all of you for watching!"

The last segment is scheduled to air December 31st at 5:25 am.

Watch Thanks for the Memories, a tribute to Norman Bennett.

I was surely excited to watch Norman Bennett on KXII-TV every day when I am up at Daybreak with his show Norman Bennett and Guests at 5:25 A.M. I do remember him when I was growing up and coming to visit Oklahoma from Arizona on our vacations when we were young. He has been a very special friend to everyone in the Texoma area and I was so lucky to meet him on an unexpected surprise. You have been an inspiration to everyone and I will miss you. So long Norman Bennett good luck and be well.

That's definetly me holding that door open :). I'm gonna miss norm, I always enjoyed staying an extra thirty minutes to run audio or camera for his shows. He is probably one of the nicest people I've ever met, and I'm going to miss him. He has been a huge inspiration to me, and I will never forget him. I hope he comes back soon to visit!
