GRAYSON COUNTY, Tex. -- Eight members of the Grayson County Sheriff's Department received promotions on Friday. Sheriff Keith Gary says seven of those officers work in the jail and one other serves as an enforcement officer.
Sheriff Gary says he considers working in the jail to be one of the hardest jobs a person can have and is very proud to have such a great staff working for him.
"I know that I’m the envy of some of the other sheriff's in other counties, because they know we have a very good staff here," Sheriff Gary said.
Sheriff Gary says there is a two-year service requirement to be eligible for promotion and says he is excited to be able to promote several officers who have met that requirement.
Officers in attendance say they are proud to serve with such great colleagues.
