3 accused of stealing mentally-challenged woman’s credit card

ARDMORE, Okla. -- Three people are in the Carter County Jail after police say they took advantage of a relative who is confined to her bed. According to the Ardmore Police Department, the victim’s sister, Janice Lee Evans, 30, stole her handicapped sister’s debit card and withdrew funds.

Police say Evans, along with Zach Diamond, 21, and Scott Taylor, 20, withdrew funds from the victim’s account from an ATM machine at Love’s Gas Station.

From there they went to the Greyhound Bus Station and purchased bus tickets to Arizona. It was there police say they arrested the trio before they were able to board the bus.

All are being charged with exploitation of a mentally-challenged person and obtaining merchandise by fraud.
