2007 marks the 25th year Home Hospice has served North Texas. Tonight, officials both past and present gathered in Sherman to celebrate the past quarter of a century, and talk about what is in store in the future.
25 years and counting, that is the message Home Hospice is celebrating this year. As a service that started back in 1982, continues to help so many.
Sherry Little is the Director of Home Hospice in North Texas, which encompasses Grayson, Cooke and Fannin counties. Little says the work they do for terminally ill patients is challenging work, but many would be surprised at how much their efforts help both parties involved.
Back in 1982 when the organization started nurses helped 3 patients. In 1988, the organization expanded to Cooke County and later on spread over to Fannin County. Officials say they kept growing as more and more people were in need. Now the organization serves over 520 patients.
The organization is excited about the next 25 years.
