CARTER COUNTY, Okla. – Twenty-four hours after authorities found a woman’s body in Healdton, deputies have arrested a suspect.
Carter County Sheriff’s deputies arrested 21-year-old Roy Gene Bassett just after 3 o’clock Thursday afternoon. Bassett stands accused of illegal dumping of a body.
On Thursday, Carter County deputies found the body of 26-year-old Brandi Baird near West Lake Road in Healdton. The body was discovered by an oil worker. Authorities believe Baird was dead for a few days before her body was found.
Now Carter County authorities believe any sort of incident regarding Baird’s death happened at Bassett’s home in Healdton
Authorities are still trying to find out exactly what caused Baird’s death.
