COOKE COUNTY, Tex. -- Some Cooke County residents can now receive discounts on prescription drugs.
Cooke County officials say residents can sign up for the program and receive about 20 percent off certain prescription drugs.
There is no fee to enroll in the program, just go to one of the participating pharmacies in Gainesville.
You can use the discount to buy drugs not covered by insurance or Medicare. Even some pet medicines are covered in the plan.
Participating pharmacies include:
Wal-Mart Pharmacy, 804 E. Highway 82, Gainesville.
CVS Pharmacy, 1106 E. Highway 82, Gainesville.
Tom Thumb Pharmacy, 200 N. Grand Ave., Gainesville.
Plaza Pharmacy, 411 N. Grand Ave., Gainesville.
Kiowa Pharmacy, 100 Kiowa Drive, Suite 104, Lake Kiowa.
Americare Pharmacy, 515 W. California St. (inside Scivally’s), Gainesville.
Sack ’N Save Pharmacy, 811 E. Highway 82, Gainesville.
Cards may be obtained from the Cooke County Commissioners office, located on level 1 of the courthouse. Barnes said she is looking for local businesses and public venues to leave a rack of cards and a poster. Anyone interested in distributing the cards may call her at 668-5433.
