ARDMORE, Okla. -- An Ardmore teenager has been arrested after trying to rob a local fast food restaurant. Ardmore Police say it happened at the Burger and Fries Restaurant on North Washington.

Police say a 13-year old black male went up to the drive-thru window and pulled out an air gun and demanded cash from a female employee at around 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Police say the boy did not make away with any cash because the woman screamed. The boy ran away, and police arrested him shortly afterward.

"She believed the gun was real, and it scared her so your initial reaction is, ‘Oh my goodness, a thirteen-year-old boy is pointing a gun at me,’ and yeah she was scared," Lt. Eric Hamblin of the Ardmore Police Department says.

The 13-year-old was booked into a juvenile detention facility with armed robbery charges.

I guess you also presume this kid has no prior record, How do you know? I didn't read that. And you are probably right this kid will more than likely do it again, But if the court system would try to rehabilitate these kids instead slapping them on the wrist, we might have a few less crimes concerning our children, Oh and by the way, where the hell was his parents, doesnt matter what their age as long as they are under 18 you should always know where your children are!

I guess whoever said that the Grandy's robbers were role models was about half right. Here we have another stupid kid pulling an adult crime of armed robbery. You would think that people would have learned a lesson from the first incident. I persume that the judge will let this kid get off easy since this was his first offense and that he's a juvenile, and will let him go back into the commmunity so he can do it again in 10 years. I assume that the Ardmore Football coach will be back up at the courthouse saying this kid is a stand-up guy!
