SHERMAN, Tex. -- Damage could be in the hundreds of thousands of dollars after thieves got away with copper wiring from a former nursing facility in Sherman.
It happened sometime in the last two weeks at the Old Mission Oaks Care Center on the Sam Rayburn Freeway. Police say someone used a chainsaw to cut down two utility poles and took copper wiring from those poles.
Investigators also say it appears a forklift was used to steal an air conditioner from the roof of the building. A water cooler valued at $100,000 was also destroyed in the ordeal.
No word on any suspects.
