McKINNEY, Tex. -- The City of McKinney says they will have a new leader to help them grow. The city is planning for Frank Ragan to begin duties as city manager by March 5. Ragan is the current deputy city manager of Aurora, Colorado.

Ragan said in a statement that he is eager to get to work in Collin County.

"I am eager to work closely with the city council and the community to maintain and improve the quality of life and make growth a complement to McKinney’s already unique character."

Ragan succeeds Larry Robinson, who is set to retire in January after serving as the city manager since 2000.

I'm so glad McKinney made the TEXOMA area news!! All I ask is WHY? Who cares? We have the same ding dang restaurants and shops with the exception of HOOTERS. But you know, the traffic does suck royally. We have our ungainly share of nasty road construction in Texomaland. Of course, McKinney is closer than Ada, OK.

Amen!! Not only does McKinney not really concern Texoma, but the road construction and traffic in and around McKinney is so bad I avoid it at all cost. I used to like going there, but not anymore.
