DENISON, Tex. -- Friday marked a very special day for Alice Cox of Denison. She celebrated her 104th birthday.

Alice was born on December 28, 1903. The lifelong Denison resident says she is in good health and is doing well. Cox says she walks with the aide of a walker but that she is still very mobile.

She has several grandchildren whom she has helped raise and now has one great grandchild. Cox says she has outlived all of her friends and never imagined she would live this long.

We asked her how she feels to have passed the century mark.

"Now listen. I don't know about that. Different feelings, different days. Sometimes I feel pretty good, sometimes I don't," Alice says.

I'm in California right now and my sister Lauren says "Happy B-Day too" I will come to see you soon when I get back. I enjoy visiting you and learning so many things from you. I love your attitude you always have a smile and a good sense of humor. I'm very lucky to have your sense of humor. Love you Grandma Alice

Dear grandmother, I just want to thank you for evreything that you have done for me. Words cannot express what you really mean to me in my heart but I will try. Oh what a bueatiful rainbow, after a spring mist rain, and the soft dew on the flower peedles, that gleams in the sun,and the sky reflecting the oceans that turns it bright blue, and the bueaty of it all is for me and you. Thank you for loving me. Your grandson, Andre.

"Happy Birthday to my great-grandmother, Alice from my two brothers, Jordan, Cameron, and me. My great-grandmother is so much fun to be with. She tells us stories about how things were when she was growing up. We can sit for hours listening to her and we can see how things have changed over the 104 years that she has experienced. She was the youngest of all her brothers and sisters, yet she was the one who took care of them. She takes good care of us too. Love you Grandma Alice.

Alice is my mom. I am her only child. She is the most amazing person. God truly blessed me with the best. She taught me well and always set the example for me. My only regret is that I live so far away, but we do see each other two to three times every year. I have tried to get her to move to California with me, but she said no way there are too many earthquakes. She is always in my heart. Love you mom.

Alice is my 2nd cousin and she truly is amazing. This video clip does not begin to portray how amazing she is. She is hilariously funny, loving and has recall memory as far back as 4 years old. Our phone conversations last for 1 to 2 hours and we both laugh til our sides hurt. I am so very blessed to have her as my cousin and have her great genes!!! She outlived my dad who was her first cousin and as she said, all of her brothers and sisters. My brother and sister in Illinois are her only other 2nd cousins and the rest of the lineage is close in spirit but further removed. She is truly a joy. I can only hope to live as long and be as witty and healthy. God has truly blessed her and her family by allowing her to be part of it for so long.
