SAVOY, Tex. -- Three people were flown to hospitals after an SUV and an 18-wheeler collided on Highway 82 in Savoy.

It happened just after 4:00 p.m. between the on and off ramps of FM 1752.

Savoy Police Chief Jeff Jones says two adults and one infant riding in the SUV were flown to Dallas hospitals.

The adults were airlifted in serious condition but Jones says the infant was taken to Children's Hospital as a precautionary measure.

The driver of the semi was not injured.

Jones says the highway was shut down for about two hours but was reopened around 6:00 p.m.

The 18-wheeler admitted on scene it was his fault, that he was looking back because he missed his turn. Maybe we should hope this young faimly especially the infant was ok rather than giving fault

Hey Bill: I wasn't talking about getting ON the highway and I will never move over for people of your type and let you speed on down the highway. I'll see you in my rear view mirror and it won't bother me a bit to see you give me the one finger wave.

My parents were there when it happened and the SUV was trying to pass another vechile and ran haed on into the Semi. My husband drives a Semi everyday and is constantly being cut off by people trying to beat him even when he is going the speed limit or a little over

Yep, it's a racetrack everywhere, and no regard for the other driver, get out of my way, cause its all about me. I say you should have left earlier or been on time!

It's like a racetrack anywhere. In the City of Sherman where the speed limit goes down to 60 so people can enter the highway with out getting killed...I have had many tailgaters with headlights flashing and one finger waving just because I am only doing 5 over the speed limit. It's like GET OUT OF MY WAY or ELSE!! I say screw them and tick em off by driving the posted speed limit! If they want to run over me or into a guardrail, then so be it!
