CARTER COUNTY, Okla. -- Carter County court officials say a preliminary hearing date for a woman accused of stabbing her live-in boyfriend to death will be set later this month.

Katie Garcia, 27, was charged with first degree manslaughter for stabbing 21-year-old Loyd McDowell in the chest. Investigators say a domestic dispute led to the stabbing.

A preliminary date is expected to be set sometime in January.
