PONTOTOC COUNTY, OK -- After a month long investigation into several reports of child molestation, Pontotoc County Sheriff’s Office officers arrested Rickey Dewayne Prince, age 51, from Ada. On January 3, Prince was placed under arrest for two counts of child molestation and for possession of child pornography.

PCSO officers have currently identified at least five different victims, all of whom were under the age of 12 and had some type of family affiliation with Prince.

PCSO first began an investigation into Prince back in 2004 after receiving reports of possible child sexual abuse from two ex-family members. Then in December 2007 two different children came forward to report sexual abuse by Prince. Another adult also reported similar sexual abuse by Prince committed twenty years earlier when she too was a child.

Based on these reports, on December 3, 2007, PCSO officers executed a search warrant on the Prince residence located about 6 miles northwest of Ada. During this search deputies recovered one home computer, one 8mm video camera, and numerous CD-ROMs and computer disks. Deputies later discovered several images of apparent child pornography on two different CD-ROMs that were recovered from the Prince residence.

On January 3rd, Rickey Prince was interviewed at the sheriff’s office where he admitted to Undersheriff Joe Glover that he used his home computer to download the child pornography from the Internet. After this interview he was placed under arrest and placed in the PCSO Jail, where his bail was set at $100,000.

PCSO has enlisted the assistance of the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Oklahoma City on this case. The FBI will conduct a full computer forensic examination on the recovered home computer, floppy disks, and CD-ROMs.

Rickey Prince is currently in the PCSO Jail and is set to reappear in District Court before Judge J.D. Miller on January 7, at 1:00pm.

Are child molesters still held in the same low esteem in prison they used to be? If so, he'll be in solitary for the rest of his life. Whatever happened to that proposal tossed around years back for castration for this type of crime?
