CARTER COUNTY, Okla. -- There is new information in a capital murder trial in Carter County. Jury selection has been going on since Tuesday in the case against James Eric Parker.

Prosecutors say 28 jurors have been chosen so far. They need to pick at least five more before opening statements can get underway.

Jury election began Tuesday and continued Wednesday and Thursday in Carter County. Parker is accused of the June 2006 shooting death of Danny Waterson of Dickson, Oklahoma, and then kidnapping his estranged lover, Kim Gilbert, at gunpoint.

The three worked together at an Ardmore tire plant.

Prosecutors are expected to seek the death penalty for Parker.
