MONTAGUE COUNTY, Tex. -- An indefinite burn ban in place in Montague County has been extended. Last week, County Judge Ted Winn put an emergency burn ban into place, and on Thursday the commissioners’ court voted to extend the ban indefinitely.
Authorities say the Bowie Fire Chief recommended the ban because of dry conditions and high winds.
The ban will remain in effect until conditions improve.
