ARDMORE, Okla.-- A neighborhood where residents once say they felt safe is no longer the case. Residents on Martin Luther King in Ardmore were yanked from their comfort zone after police say 18-year-old Quintin Epps fired shots Friday night on their quiet street.
Lt. Eric Hamlin with the Ardmore Police Department says “We were advised by witnesses that the suspect fired approximately 5 rounds at the residence, 3 of those rounds struck the residence."
No one was injured. Police say an argument early Friday afternoon between Epps and someone at the residence could be to blame. ‘We're still investigating exactly what the motive is, but we're being told that it had to do with an auto vandalism and an argument that ensued.”
Four hours after Epps opened fire and ran, authorities took him to custody. “That suspect, Quentin Epps is incarcerated at the Carter County Jail on pending charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, I believe there are 3 counts.”
As for neighbors on Martin Luther King, they are shocked this incident happened.
Police are still investigating this case.
Epps will either be charged with three counts of assault with a deadly weapon or shooting with intent to kill.
