CALERA, Okla. -- A Calera police officer is recovering on Wednesday after his patrol unit was hit Tuesday night at Highway 69-75 and McKinley Street.
Calera's police chief said Wednesday morning the driver of another car failed to yield at a stop sign and pulled out in front of Captain Daniel Thurman.
Thurman suffered minor injuries to his neck and shoulder.
The driver of the other vehicle was charged with driving under a suspended license and failure to yield at a stop sign. Alcohol was found at the scene, but investigators have yet to determine if it was a factor.
