FANNIN COUNTY, Tex. -- More prescription discount cards could soon be on their way to Fannin County. County officials say the program they started a couple of months ago has turned out to be more successful than anticipated.
In the month of December, more than 300 prescriptions were discounted, meaning a savings of around $3,000.
Officials say they believe there are plenty more people in Fannin County that are unaware of the program.
It is a problem county leaders would like to solve.
"The National Association of Counties said put them anywhere you want, so I may go to the hardware store and put some in there to see if we found any areas we've missed," Fannin County purchasing agent Michael Uhl says.
The prescription cards can be found in all major pharmacies and offer up to a 20% discount on prescribed medications.
