PONTOTOC COUNTY, Okla. -- A Pontotoc County man has been convicted of molesting a six-year-old. Joseph Keith Robertson, 26, of Ada, was arrested back in November of 2005 after Department of Human Services Child Welfare found he had been sexually abusing a child.

After more than five hours of deliberations Wednesday, a jury found Robertson guilty on one count of child molestation of a minor child and one count of forcible sodomy.

Each of these charges carries a potential penalty of up to 20 years in prison.

Robertson is currently being held in the Pontotoc County Jail where he is awaiting a February 14 hearing.

I knew there wasn't something right about him.. I can't believe that he was an RA at the dorms. That is so terrrible. All the time I spent with him, he talked down to me and acted like i was so low. Well what goes around comes around!

I went to school with Joe and had 2 classes with him. I knew he was a little "weird", but he was always a nice guy around me and his friends. He was very sociable, and always had random stories to tell. I was really surprised when I found out about him getting charged with this. I certainly wouldn't have ever pegged him as a child molester... but apparently despite his knack for story-telling, he had one HUGE story to hide... It really is a shame that this all happened, for both his son and for him.

I am sure the jury heard the "two sides" of the story and they decided to believe the child.

I went to school with Joe, too. He always seemed like a great guy. Apparently he's a slime ball. It goes to show that one may not appear as they seem. Child molesters get dealt with in prison. He will be getting plenty of 'forceable sodomy' where he's going. What a freak. And to the person that said 'there's two sides to a story' - Children don't lie about that stuff. Obviously he had something to hide or he wouldn't have kept the fact that he had a child from his closest friends here at school. We had no clue who this freak was. He was a fraud of a friend.

i am very concerned about you folks, wanting to do harm to joe, so quick. i knew joe very well and i have a hard time believing that he would have done such a thing. if he did do it then he deserves whatever they give him.. . . . there is always more to the story than what yall hear just on the news.

This is a horrible thing to hear! I went to school with this guy. It makes me absolutely sick to my stomache that someone can do such a horrible thing. I just feel so sorry for the little boy and what he most have went through and all the other children that this is happening to or has happened to! It's really scarey for me because I have a two year old daughter and this story just goes to show that you never know who people really are and it's really sad that we have to worry about grown adults abusing our babies. It just sick!! I hope that he gets the most that can be givin to him, but in the end the sad thing is no matter what happens to the man that did this that poor little boy is never going to be the same and he is going to have to carry this with him for the rest of his life!!

I was one of those fooled by his lies. Now the truth comes out.

I went to school with this guy at MSC. He was always really weird but all the instructors LOVED him. I was always uncomfortable around him! I didn't want to be alone with him, I knew that there was something wrong with him. It was like I could sense it. He never even mentioned that he had a son to anyone! WHO DOES THAT? Only if you have something to hide! I am so glad that he has convicted and taken off of the street. There's no telling if he would do it again or if he already has! I'm just glad that he won't be able to harm anyone else for a long time! You never know he may not ever again! You know what they do to child molesters in prison!

Give him the max! And you can rest assured that his fellow inmates will take care of him in prison. Criminals may have made some bad mistakes but they sure do not tolerate the child molestors. He will really get a true punishment then!

Joe is a freak. I am glad to see that his charming personality didn't fool this group of people like it has so many others. He has made of life of telling lies and convincing everyone how great he is. Now the world can see who he really is.
