SHERMAN, TX -- The man who police say had plans of robbing a Sherman bank last week may now face federal charges.

Jeffery Gray Wise, 44, was arrested last week after authorities found him sitting in a white van outside Texas Star Bank.

After questioning him, wise confessed he did have plans to rob the bank, which is a federal offense.

Grayson County District Attorney Joe Brown says wise is charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, but if federal charges are filed they would be handed down after the investigation is complete

Wise is currently in the Grayson County Jail on a $500,000 bond.
