GARVIN COUNTY, Okla. -- A nine-year-boy is dead after an ATV accident Sunday afternoon in Garvin County. Troopers say it happened about one today on a private road about two miles west of I-35 and Highway 7 in Garvin County.

Troopers say Colton Keith Green of Davis was driving the Yamaha 350 ATV. They say the boy was driving down a hill and hit a broadside. The vehicle rolled and pinned the child underneath.

He was taken to Arbuckle Memorial in Sulphur where he was pronounced dead.

Frankly it really doesn't matter if the child was on a ATV, a passenger in a car, or playing on the sidewalk; we all need to realize that sometimes its just our time to leave this world whether we are 2, 9, 21, or 50.

How many children have to die from ATV's, Waverunners, etc, before something is done? My prayers go out to the family.

Right know is not the time to place blame, or say the ATV was too big, not enough gear, parent supervision, etc. I'm sure if the family could go back things would be different. Shame on those who would place blame. To the family: So sorry for your loss, anytime a child is lost the whole community is affected. Accidents are just that ,accidents. No one is to blame. God bless your family.

1streponder I really don't care how much gear you put on a child if the ATV is is large it will kill the child or hurt them really, I feel so sorry for this family my prayers go out to them, I had a cousin that rode a dirt bike and he was wearing his helmet and to make a long story short he is paralized now and cannot walk
