PURCELL, Okla. (AP) - An FBI agent testifies that a man suspected of killing a 10-year-old Purcell girl was distraught after being taken into custody.
Agent Gary Johnson testified during a preliminary hearing in McClain County District Court for Kevin Underwood, who is charged with murder in the April 12th, 2006, death of Jamie Rose Bolin.
Testimony in the hearing will continue Thursday morning.
Much of Wednesday's testimony focused on the night that authorities
took Underwood into custody.
His defense attorneys maintain that FBI agents and state investigators repeatedly violated Underwood's rights during the early part of the investigation into the girl's death.
Jamie's body was found by police in a plastic tub in Underwood's apartment. Authorities have said Underwood killed the girl as part
of a cannibalism plot.
