FANNIN COUNTY, Tex. -- The goal is historic preservation and community pride, but no word yet if the Texas Historical Commission will decide if Fannin County will receive funding to improve its courthouse.

If granted, the money would go toward renovating the courthouse with a portion of $60 million, the amount the state is awarding counties that applied for the grant.
