BRYAN COUNTY, OK -- Court records show Jeffrey Tyler has plead guilty to second-degree murder, and was sentenced to 35 years in prison.
Tyler read a statement in court Monday saying he in the one responsible for the death of 42-year-old Kimberly Bradford in July of 2006 in Durant. He did say he did not intentionally kill her.
Police say they found Bradford shot in the head at Tyler’s home, and he was shot in the stomach with the same gun.
Tyler told police at the time that Bradford shot him.
The charge was initially first degree murder, but was reduced to second degree in the plea bargain.
Tyler waived his right to appeal and must serve 85% of the sentence before being eligible for parole.
Bradford's family read letters to Tyler expressing the amount of grief they have felt and continue to feel.
