MARSHALL COUNTY, Okla. -- After nearly two years, Pointe Vista developers have finally taken ownership of several hundred acres of state park land. State land officials made the official transfer to Pointe Vista developers on Thursday. Teddy Safo has the details.

The transfer finally happened around 12:30 Thursday afternoon. The deal involving 550 acres of park land was closed. That acreage, otherwise known as Site 'A', includes Chickasaw Pointe Golf Course. The value of the property is an estimated $10.5 million.

Both sides admit it has been a long, tedious process because of all the red tape such as complicated paperwork involving land abstracts and developers having to assess all the property before the purchase could be finalized.

"We really have been working full pace for the past year and a half on our planning process. This will allow us to go ahead and start turning dirt." Pointe Vista operations manager Scott Fischer said.

Now the largest chuck of the deal has been completed. Developers and land officials are now working to transfer a little over 200 acres. That plot of land includes the Texoma Golf Course.

to taxed to death; i know what you mean about being taxed to death in this county. i would like to know where all the money goes that is collected in the first place. the roads in this county are a joke nothing is ever improved. i agree with you that maybe pointe vista will decide to show this county that since you decided to up the taxes on us then we are going to show you what we can do. maybe they will move the sand bass festival out there and get it out of madill. that is a joke in its self.

ok so how much taxes will marshall co. get out of the sale of the land and all the so called improvements that are to come. now there is going to be more taxes for the buyers to pay. i hope they decide to build a trailer park instead so that the counry can have more trash brought in. thats the way it is in this county buy something and watch the rules and your taxes go thru the roof. i don't know why anyone would want to move here in the first place
