State of disaster declared in Cooke Co.

COOKE COUNTY, Tex. -- As a result of recent wildfires in Cooke County, judge bill freeman has declared a state of disaster and the county's emergency management plan has been implemented. That means certain regulations will now take effect:

-The sale and use of all fireworks and other pyrotechnic materials are prohibited.

-Welding and other activities that could produce fire are prohibited.

Freeman says the disaster status should not last longer than a week, but the restrictions could continue if conditions fail to improve.
