SHERMAN, Tex. -- It was a sweet night for Court Appointed Special Advocates in Grayson County. The annual CASA Chocolate Indulgence Fundraiser was held at the Sherman Municipal Ballroom.
Officials from across Grayson County were invited to attend the event, which raises money for a group which to helps represent abused children in court. Officials with the group say this year, the number of child abuse cases have doubled, which worries volunteers. That is why events like the Chocolate Fest are so important.
Jana Garner, the Executive Director for Grayson County CASA, says, “It helps us bring in money that we can keep this program going and this program is so important to these kids because we're really their advocate in court."
