McKINNEY, Texas (AP) - A suburban martial arts teacher has been found guilty of hiring someone to kill his pregnant wife in a plot foiled when the hitman tipped off the woman.
Albert Jackson Sterling II was found guilty Friday of solicitation of capital murder for his wife, who was eight months pregnant, and the unborn child.
Prosecutors say Sterling hired Jeffrey Thompson to kill his wife in the couple's suburban Dallas home in November 2006. But Thompson instead told Roxane Johnson-Sterling about the scheme.
Jurors deliberated more than two days. Sentencing was scheduled to begin later Friday, The Dallas Morning News reported.
